Technical Background

AI-Powered Categorization

Instead of navigating through category lists, users simply describe their issue in their own words. The system recognizes the appropriate category from the text and suggests it. This saves time on both ends.

Open311 API

Kamp-Lintfort also uses the Open311 interface that comes with all our installations. Reports can be directly integrated into existing backend systems – making Mark-a-Spot a flexible FixMyStreet alternative and 311 solution.

Nuxt 4 Frontend

The frontend is built on Nuxt 4 and runs directly in the browser, no app needed. If you spot damage while out and about, you can report it immediately with photo and location.

Background

In summer 2025, the CDU faction publicly called for a digital issue reporter for Kamp-Lintfort. The portal went live on November 1st. From political initiative to finished system in just a few months.
